WIS students achieving in the top 20 to 15% nationally in grades 3 to 7
Our 8th graders excelled on the ACT EXPLORE test!! Their average score was 88% on national norms. Designed for 8th and
9th graders, the EXPLORE tests are a precursor to the ACT, a college entrance exam. Moreover, our 8th graders are working at a level of college readiness and above in most subject areas.
The EXPLORE test results are an added document of their academic achievement at WIS and will assist them in placement in honors and accelerated courses in high school.
Our 6th and 7th graders also took the EXPLORE in this year. It is a tougher comparison for these students because they are compared to 8th and 9th graders as well. However, our 6th and 7th graders are well on their well to high
achievement as well.
Like these EXPLORE results, the ERB standardized test scores from last May showed WIS students achieving in the top 20 to 15% nationally in grades 3 to 7. Bravo, students!

Toys for Tots
Fourth grader Logan chose to have toys brought in for needy children instead of receiving gifts on his birthday, which is December 25th.
His effort inspired other fourth graders to help with the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program. The marines collect new, unwrapped toys in October, November, and December and distribute them to needy children in the community where they were collected. Marine Sgt. Morris spoke to the class about the need for toys and the marines' efforts recently.
