An important component of an independent school education is being active in sports. We have provided a list of alternatives to school sports that children can participate in. We've included some programs currently available. Meanwhile, WIS will continue to develop its own sports programs.

BASEBALL
  De Pere Youth Sports Organization (formerly known as DADS)
      Four Programs based on Grade: Pre-K and Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd, 7th, 8th and     9th. Season runs April - July.
      Note: Non-residents may pay an additional fee.   
  De Pere Kelly Danen and Pony League Youth Baseball
      Ages: 9 - 14 years. Season runs from May - July.
      Note: Non-residents may pay an additional fee.    
  Green Bay Area Youth Baseball / Softball Association
      Ages: 5 - 16 years.  West Side and East Side leagues available.

BASKETBALL
      WIS offers basketball clinics on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school and on Saturday mornings during the basketball season. More information is available here.

      Grades: 1st - 4th. Season runs during the winter.
         Also: Little Hoopsters for ages 4-5. Mini Dribblers for ages 6-9.

Youth Free Throw and "Hot Shot" 3-Point Tournament

      Free Throw Ages: 3rd - 8th Grades
      Hot Shot Tournament: 6th Grade - Adult
      Generally held in March at Southwest HS
   
  Many public school districts have elementary and middle school basketball programs for boys and girls. League play does occur among these teams with the intention of preparing the students for high school-level basketball.
  Several local private middle schools also have basketball programs and participate in league play. WIS students are invited to participate on those teams until we have the number of participants necessary to form a team ourselves.
