Small Class Sizes
Research studies continue to show that small classroom sizes benefit student learning and encourages children to learn at his/her potential. In a smaller classroom setting, students will have individualized attention and be offered activities with increased expectations.
Exceptional Programs
Rigorous Curriculum:
WIS will offer a pre-collegiate academic program. We will require the daily teaching of a foreign language at the elementary level. Our students will be exposed to the latest technology that will be used seamlessly in everyday classroom activities. Students will have all the benefits of a challenging academic program readily available, but will also have a firm base in the core academic areas. WIS believes each child needs a basic understanding of the core areas of learning, such as Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science and Fine Arts. As students are given a solid foundation in basic skills, they will also be given opportunities on a daily basis to be challenged, inspired and engaged in all areas of learning.
International Standards:
WIS will offer a rigorous, international curriculum that promotes responsible global citizenship. Students will be asked to think and learn from a global perspective and be held accountable to a curriculum that will meet an international standard. Our goal at WIS is to prepare each child to think on a broader, global scale while appreciating and understanding his/her place within our own community and country.
Extracurricular Activities:
WIS will also offer extracurricular programs that will give many different opportunities to participate in a variety of after-school activities. These activities will encourage students to be well-rounded and have successes in other areas, such as sports, drama, music, languages, etc.

We believe that technology is an evolving tool for communication, research, applying and presenting knowledge. Technology will enable our students to adapt to new experiences and to approach problems with current and appropriate techniques in the broad range of their work and daily life. The balance of traditional curriculum and the wise use of technology-rich instruction will remain essential to our educational approach. Additionally, technology as a tool will foster successful communication within our community.
WIS will infuse technology into the curriculum through student netbooks and SMARTBoards, allowing hands-on experience with productivity skills vital for the 21st century. Knowledge of word processing, presentation software, ancillary hardware, such as printers, cameras, and data collection devices will be part of a student's education at WIS.
